About Us

A successful restaurant depends on strong relationships with both customer and suppliers. We very much hope that our customers appreciate the high quality ingredients we use, and therefore, we choose suppliers who will offer us produce grown and selected with genuine care.

The Woodman’s dining area can seat around 46 people and offers a Gastro menu cooked fresh in our kitchens, as ordered.

Our Head Chef and his experienced team have set about providing modern British and European cuisine with more than a slant towards the contemporary. Only the freshest produce, brought locally wherever possible, is used.

Aberdeen Angus beef is used alongside Suffolk Pork and British Lamb, we source the best produce which is currently in season, fresh fish is delivered to us daily.

The menu changes throughout the year to cater for the fresh produce currently in season at that time, but a typical menu can provide anything from Moroccan Scented Chump of Lamb Resting on Wild Mushroom & Mint cous cous to Beer Battered Haddock & Hand Cut Chips.

To help wash down your food and entice your pallet the Woodman’s also has a large selection of fine wines, champagnes and port, most of which can be seen by selecting house & Reserve Wine List Tab on this site.

Our menu’s change and constantly evolve to reflect the seasons and to bring you the best of our Chef’s culinary creativity, with special daily dishes often available to compliment particular seasonal availability.

Bar meals are served lunchtime only, along with a with a selections of Sandwiches and lighter bite meals.

David Ripo and Andy Wagstaff are the owners of the Woodman’s Arms & The Barge Inn Battlesbridge, their experience and ambition combined is to ensure that the business is successful in every way, the constant monitoring and control of quality and customer service, is paramount, continually updating and improving service, ideas and performance.
